Does your school have a dress code or
school policy on what you wear? many schools are requiring kids to wear uniforms
or follow dress codes. Many kids are judged or bullied at school for how they
dress or look. If you require uniforms, this will be fixed because everyone will
look the same. Some children cannot afford high priced clothes that are commonly
referred to as the "trend". School uniforms or dress codes are essential in the
foundation for better learning.
First of all, these clothes that schools ban are usually inappropriate
with cuss words or bad pictures. Studies have shown how these clothes can be
distracting to students. For example, a will be doing his/her
work when another student comes in wearing an inappropriate shirt and
distracts the kid's work. the student would no longer be able to focus because
of the classroom disruption.
Secondly, as kids grow to be in high school or junior high, they begin to
seem to worry about how they look
instead of focusing on learning. For example, a girl may spend an hour before
school doing her hair and picking out her outfit when she could've studied for a
test she forgot to study for. this can lead to bad test scores for the school
and the students. the school's reputation for grades will go down along side
test scores. issuing uniforms will help learning because all students will have
the same thing to wear and spend more time worrying about
school.
finally, kids all over the U.S are bullied every day for the way they
look or dress. kids usually worship one type of clothing at a time, meaning they
only hang out with you or think you're cool if you have that article of
clothing. some kids cannot afford high priced clothing therefore are left out
and bullied. Issuing uniforms will help, if all the kids had to dress the same,
bullies couldn't make fun of them for the way that they
look.
In conclusion, dress codes or uniforms are essential in the foundation
for better learning because they will help stop bullying, classroom
distractions, helping kids study for school and improve in
general.
